A Free Package of Business Support with Kidderminster BID

We want to support our local businesses as much as possible and here at Kidderminster BID we’re offering a series of free business growth courses and the opportunity to join a Peer to Peer Network.

Weekly (2hour) training sessions include:

  • Embracing change & Covid adaptation on the High Street
  • Digital Marketing
  • Transition of the High Street
  • Effective Leadership Skills
  • Communication skills and good management
  • Finance: cash flow forecasting, best practice business accounting
  • Mental Health in the workplace – recognising signs and your legal obligations

The Peer to Peer Network and training support is to provide local businesses with the tools to work together and learn from top business experts in order to support and adapt to change and be more resilient in the future. The High Street is rapidly evolving and it is crucial that we work together as a business community in order to recover and thrive.

Through interactive action learning, we will enable you to discuss your own challenges, gain and reflect on valuable feedback and implement practical solutions to overcome them.

From Finance and HR to Sales, Marketing and Covid Adaptation and embracing change within the High Street, the expert facilitators will give you the flexibility to create a trusted support network that works for you, helping you to build and strengthen your business and improve its overall performance.

The support is FREE 18hrs of facilitated online learning and FREE 3.5hrs one to one time with the trainer.  The activity will need to be completed by the end of March 2021.

The Course will commence on 25th  January for 9 weeks.

Sessions are 2 hours long, once a week, on a Monday or a Thursday.

Sessions will be delivered by The Institute of Place Management (part of Manchester Metropolitan University), Dr Julie Grail from The BID Foundation, High Street Task Force,  Heart of Worcestershire College (delivering courses for accredited bodies including Chartered Institute of Marketing and Chartered Institute in Management), Bishop Fleming and HR Champions.

The sessions are weekly and aimed at business owners or senior management.  It is ideal for independents and franchise owners.   You will each receive 1-2-1 coaching following the sessions in order to support and develop your business.

Benefits

Businesses that seek external advice or undertake formal training are more likely to improve their overall performance, but many prefer to take advice from trusted sources, such as their peers, when presented with external challenges and opportunities.

Peer Networks enables you to  make connections that go far beyond networking.

By completing Peer Networks, you will:

  • Overcome business challenges and recognise and act on new opportunities
  • Build a trusted network of connections to support you now and in the future
  • Improve your long-term personal and business performance

Criteria

  • Business has been operating for at least one year
  • At least two employees
  • Turnover at least £100,000 p.a (*there is some discretion on this)
  • Aspiration to improve

The Programme

Peer Networks is delivered through a series of high impact group sessions, with each cohort led by a trained facilitator. Areas that will be covered will include best use of technology in the COVID world to present the business in the best way digitally and also look at new business development opportunities.

The programme includes:

  • Interactive action learning
  • Trained facilitators
  • Small groups
  • Flexible topic selection
  • One to one coaching

This is a great opportunity for your businesses, especially as we have been forced into lockdown for a third time. If you would like to sign up or ask any further details, please email the BID Manager directly on Alex@kidderminsterbid.co.uk or phone 07842 894 198.

This business support has been made possible by working in partnership with Worcester BID and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership.

The sun was out last week, so we thought we’d pop into Mr Tee Records over in the Horsefair, and what a hidden gem it is 🌟 If you’re local, chances are you already love this place… but if you’ve never been, it’s honestly worth a visit. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a brilliant team and a vibe that instantly takes you back. It’s one of those shops you can easily lose time in. Huge shoutout to Terry and Adam who run the store, along with Stuart Morton and DJ MJ all doing an amazing job keeping this iconic spot alive. 💙 What’s even more impressive is that Mr Tee Records is coming up to its 50th Anniversary in our town centre. That says everything about how loved and supported it is locally. Honestly, I think they might have the biggest record collection I’ve ever seen, I’m pretty sure if you asked, they’d find something you didn’t even know existed. From Metallica to Harry Styles… that pretty much says it all 😉 Their Open Day is also coming up, celebrating alongside Record Store Day, supported in partnership with Back2House Radio, an award-nominated house music station based in Stourbridge and the first of its kind across the West Midlands and Worcestershire. Honestly, go and check it out, a proper local gem that deserves all the support 🙌 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #love #support #community #music #local #town #Business

23 March

It’s been a warmer week and our outreach team have been busy continuing their efforts to keep the town cleaner and safer ☀️ Chris and Ricky have been hard at work across Worcester Street, New Road and Oxford Street, de-weeding and freshening up footpaths, and with the sun out, it’s made for a good grind! This week alone we’ve collected over 9 bags of litter. 🌱 As always, there’s been a few interesting finds along the way… including a crisp packet dating back to 2004 (basically ancient now 😅), a rogue kettle, and even a whole stash of security tags. We’re really starting to see the difference and hope you are too 💙 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #support #community #town #local #town #clean #litter #business
