The sun was out last week, so we thought we’d pop into Mr Tee Records over in the Horsefair, and what a hidden gem it is 🌟 If you’re local, chances are you already love this place… but if you’ve never been, it’s honestly worth a visit. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a brilliant team and a vibe that instantly takes you back. It’s one of those shops you can easily lose time in. Huge shoutout to Terry and Adam who run the store, along with Stuart Morton and DJ MJ all doing an amazing job keeping this iconic spot alive. 💙 What’s even more impressive is that Mr Tee Records is coming up to its 50th Anniversary in our town centre. That says everything about how loved and supported it is locally. Honestly, I think they might have the biggest record collection I’ve ever seen, I’m pretty sure if you asked, they’d find something you didn’t even know existed. From Metallica to Harry Styles… that pretty much says it all 😉 Their Open Day is also coming up, celebrating alongside Record Store Day, supported in partnership with Back2House Radio, an award-nominated house music station based in Stourbridge and the first of its kind across the West Midlands and Worcestershire. It’s been a warmer week and our outreach team have been busy continuing their efforts to keep the town cleaner and safer ☀️ Chris and Ricky have been hard at work across Worcester Street, New Road and Oxford Street, de-weeding and freshening up footpaths, and with the sun out, it’s made for a good grind! This week alone we’ve collected over 9 bags of litter. 🌱 As always, there’s been a few interesting finds along the way… including a crisp packet dating back to 2004 (basically ancient now 😅), a rogue kettle, and even a whole stash of security tags. Last Saturday, if you were in town, you probably spotted lots of young litter pickers out and about, and it was great to see. 💙 We were proud to support the Girlguiding Spring Clean as part of the Great British Spring Clean, the amazing Rainbows, Brownies and Girl Guides took to the streets of Kidderminster. With the sunshine out and such a strong turnout, it was a fantastic effort, collecting 7,788 pieces of litter, with some items even dating back to 2002! 😲 It’s great to see people of all ages coming together to put a bit of love and care back into our town. A big well done to everyone involved, and a massive shoutout to Little Litter Warriors and Girlguiding Kidderminster for organising it all and making it happen, as well as KDYT for hosting. You might have seen that Peacocks on Worcester Street is due to close on April 4th. It’s always sad to see a long-standing town centre business go, especially one with such a lovely team who really care about their customers and the town. They’ve always been engaging and have loved getting involved in what we do, which we’ve really appreciated. 🌟 We popped in earlier and there are some brilliant deals in there at the moment (and they’re going quickly!). If you’re in town over the next couple of weeks, it would be great to pop in, grab a bargain and show the team a bit of love and support before they close. It’s been another busy week for our outreach team. Chris and Ricky have been non-stop helping businesses tidy up their frontages, supporting over 30 businesses in the past few days including Mobile Tech, Vodafone, Pavers and plenty more as we start gearing up for the better weather and the run into spring. Safe to say the brushes and litter pickers have been getting a proper workout this week! 💙 Alongside that, the team have kept up their ongoing clean-up across the town centre, collecting over 15 bags of litter. Sam and Mike have also been out supporting businesses and helping keep an eye on things around town. Today Mountain Warehouse celebrated the opening of their newly expanded store in Kidderminster, with Deputy Mayor Shazu Miah joined by founder Mark Neale for the occasion. In case you missed it, they’ve expanded into the unit right next door, creating a much bigger space with more stock and an even wider variety of outdoor gear, and honestly, it looks fantastic. 🤩 It’s brilliant to see a national brand like Mountain Warehouse continuing to invest in our town after more than 10 years here. Seeing businesses grow and expand like this is always a great sign for the town and our high street. 🙌 There was also a lovely moment on the day as Jade, the Assistant Store Manager, and Simon the team leader, was presented with his 10-year service certificate, a great achievement and a real sign of the strong team behind the store. 👏 If you’re heading into town, it’s definitely worth popping in and taking a look at Crossley Retail Park 💙 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #new #community #support #team #love #town #Events #gear #clothes

It’s been one of those weeks, rain, sun, a bit of everything, but our outreach team have still been out and about supporting local businesses and continuing our cleansing efforts to help make the town cleaner, safer and better for everyone. 💙 This week Ricky and Chris have done some amazing work on Green Street, alongside making solid progress across the wider town centre. Sam and Mike have also been out supporting businesses and keeping things moving. In total, the team collected over 9 bags of litter and clocked an incredible 550k steps. We’re starting to see a real difference and hope you are too. Incase you didn’t know, this week marks James Barker’s final week as BID Manager at Kidderminster BID. 🌟 James has played a huge role in shaping the events and energy in our town over the past few years. From introducing Oktoberfest and the Canal & Food Festival to helping deliver some fantastic town centre moments, he’s left a real mark on Kidderminster. 💙 Beyond the events, he’s been a driving force behind bringing businesses together and pushing the town forward. A proper character, a big personality, and someone who genuinely cared about making things happen. It’s been a brilliant couple of years working alongside him, and we hope you’ve enjoyed the events and initiatives he helped bring to life as much as we have. Iit’s brilliant to see over £40 million being invested into buildings across the town. That level of commitment really does make a difference. 🙌 But at the same time, we don’t think it should stop there. So we’ve taken a small step ourselves, teaming up with Jo and Josh from Trusted Traders to freshen up a handful of independent businesses on New Road, adding colour and character while backing the traders who keep the street going. 💙 It’s only a trial, but the early response has been really encouraging.
